Learn About Politics
You may be too young to vote now, but your chance will come soon. You might be old enough to vote in the next general election. Will you know who to vote for, or will you check off every candidate with an "R" or a "D" next to his or her name? If you don't know the values of the candidates on the ballot, you might regret your choice.
We at QOHS Teenage Republicans encourage you to become aware about current events and issues today so that you are proactive in your choices. Life gets busy; even busier when you turn 18! Learning about government and how their decisions influence you will help lead you in an informed direction.
Even if you're not very interested in politics and imagine yourself working in a bakery or a doctor's office, for instance, politics still affects you. Think about it: You want to be a small business owner, but because of Obamacare you can't afford to pay your employees the wages and benefits they deserve. Also because of Obamacare, you're forced to choose health insurance or pay a fine. Who empowered Obama to sign this into law? The people.

Think about the 2016 presidential campaign. How did Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton get on the ballot? Primary elections. A large percentage of voters chose these two candidates, and now they are running against each other. How will one candidate win? Voters.
That is why it is important to learn about current events and how government works. It is inevitable that whichever candidate wins this presidential election, it will impact your future.

Too Busy?
We understand. Many participating teens are short on time. However, you don't have to become a full-time politician or surrender all of your spare time. We just ask for a few hours each month. Those few hours, though, can change your life.

Become a Republican?
We'd certainly like you to, but the choice is all yours. However, don't choose blindly. Reflect on what we stand for as Republicans, then decide. If you'd like more information on our values, browse our website. You never know what you might find!
